TEKsystems Named 2023 Disability Equality Index Best Place to Work for Fifth Straight Year

July 26, 2023 | HANOVER, MD

Recognized for commitment to creating an inclusive work environment for individuals who are differently abled.

TEKsystems, a global provider of technology, business and talent solutions for more than 80% of the Fortune 500, today announced it has been named as a top scorer in the 2023 Disability Equality Index® “Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion” by the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) and Disability:IN®.

Recognition on this index for the fifth straight year demonstrates TEKsystems’ commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable workplace where employees with different abilities can thrive.

The company’s policies and programs include a variety of employee resource groups and employee networks to create an inclusive environment, such as ENABLED, an affinity group that connects and empowers differently abled individuals. In addition, TEKsystems supports local charities and communities through their match assistance program and corporate partnerships with organizations such as, but not limited to, the Association of University Centers on Disabilities, Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation and Foundation Fighting Blindness.

“It’s an honor to be recognized for the fifth year in a row as a top scorer in the Disability Equality Index. At TEKsystems, we’re dedicated to identifying the resources and the connections needed to ensure our people are growing and developing,” said Franklin Reed, executive director of global inclusion, diversity and equity at TEKsystems. “Hiring people with different abilities brings untapped value into our workforce—diversifying skillsets, leadership styles and ways of thinking.”

The Disability Equality Index, a joint initiative of the American Association of People with Disabilities and Disability:IN, is a comprehensive disability inclusion assessment tool that allows leading businesses to self-report their disability practices and policies. Celebrated by business leaders and disability advocates alike, the Disability Equality Index seeks to advance the best practices that should be expected of all large employers. The Disability Equality Index was created by the Disability Equality Index Advisory Committee, a diverse group of business leaders, policy experts and disability advocates. Now in its eighth year, the Disability Equality Index exists to help businesses positively impact the unemployment/underemployment of people with disabilities. The 2023 Disability Equality Index measured:

  • Culture and leadership
  • Enterprise-wide access
  • Employment practices, including benefits, recruitment, employment and accommodations
  • Community engagement
  • Supplier diversity
  • Non-U.S. operations

Of the 415 businesses to qualify in 2023 with scores of 80 or above, TEKsystems, earning a score of 90, is proud to be a leader in IT, driving initiatives for a more diverse, inclusive and equitable tech industry.

About the Disability Equality Index®

The Disability Equality Index (DEI) is a comprehensive benchmarking tool that helps companies build a roadmap of measurable, tangible actions that they can take to achieve disability inclusion and equality. The organizations are complementary and bring unique strengths that make the project relevant and credible to corporations and the disability community. The tool was developed by the DEI Advisory Committee, a diverse group of business leaders, policy experts and disability advocates. Learn more at www.DisabilityEqualityIndex.org.
