Hispanic Information Technology Executive Council honors TEKsystems’ Ricardo Madan for third consecutive year

Nov. 5, 2020 | HANOVER, MD

Prestigious HITEC 100 List recognizes influential and notable Hispanic professionals in the technology industry

TEKsystems®, a provider of full-stack technology services that address the pressing strategy, implementation and talent needs for more than 80% of the Fortune 500, announced today that Ricardo Madan, vice president of technology products and services, has been named to the Hispanic Information Technology Executive Council (HITEC) 2021 Top 100 list.

Over his 20 years in the industry, Ricardo has served in several positions within the Allegis Group, the global leader in talent solutions, and TEKsystems. Ricardo currently oversees the delivery of technology solutions, strategic planning and implementation services for TEKsystems Global Services®, helping leading companies transform their business through digital transformation. Previously included in the HITEC 2020 and 2019 Top 100 lists, he is passionate about cultivating diversity in the tech industry. He has served as an executive mentor for HITEC’s Emerging Executive Program, guiding and advising future Hispanic technology professionals and business leaders.

“It’s an honor to be included among a group of talented innovators who are dedicated to leading their organizations through this rapidly evolving technology landscape and who are equally committed to changing the diversity disparity in the IT industry,” said Ricardo. “We must provide opportunities to those underrepresented in tech, which will ultimately benefit our organizations and the communities where we work and live.”

For more than a decade, HITEC has honored Hispanic professionals on the Top 100 list as part of the organization’s mission to increase Hispanic representation and build stronger technology and executive leaders in the diversity-challenged technology industry. This mission aligns with TEKsystems’ belief that diversity strengthens business performance and is an integral part of the company's history, culture and identity. By valuing diverse leadership within the organization, TEKsystems is better able to embrace diverse backgrounds, life experiences, individuality and celebrate all the unique qualities its employees have to offer.

“Our purpose at TEKsystems is to create significant opportunity for our customers and our consultants—and that means equal opportunity for all,” said Franklin Reed, director of inclusion and diversity at TEKsystems. “Ricardo puts our purpose into action and works to build a more diverse workforce and inclusive workplace. We're proud that he is recognized once again on the HITEC Top 100 list.”

TEKsystems has been partnering with companies and nonprofits to fund coding camps and other skills-based training initiatives for women and minorities, with the aim of hiring as many graduates as possible. Since 2015, TEKsystems has hired more than 500 individuals from its inclusion and diversity partner programs, and currently 26% of TEKsystems consultants are women and 39% are people of color.

In a 2019 feature in Hispanic Executive, Ricardo reflected, “There’s a reason I’m still at this organization. It embodies the spirit with which I was raised—to value an abundance of diversity.”

The HITEC 100 list is a compilation of the top Hispanic professionals in the technology industry from across the U.S. and celebrates their leadership and achievements in all sectors of the industry. Awardees are evaluated on their accomplishments in the ever-changing global landscape of technology and for their mentoring and professional development activities. Individuals included on the list were selected by the 2020 Awards Committee. Nominations are solicited from HITEC members and the general public.

“2020 has been a year of challenges and unimaginable global change. During these times, our leaders have worked to change the conversation, using technology to innovate and working to create meaningful impact,” said HITEC Chairman, Guillermo Diaz, Jr., CEO of Kloudspot. “It is because of these leaders and innovators that businesses and families around the world have been able to stay connected, functioning and forging a path forward. It is an extremely proud moment for the Hispanic community and the tech industry to recognize and celebrate these leaders.”

The awardees on the HITEC 100 list will be recognized virtually during the HITEC Awards Ceremony on December 8, 2020. View the full list of the HITEC 100.
