The highest-paying IT and digital jobs of 2017

Which position earns more than CIO?

July 17, 2017

By Lisa Dare

Need a reason to jumpstart your job search this summer? Perhaps the thought of a higher salary will motivate you.

IT jobs are among the highest-paid but some pull down considerably more salary than others. Amazingly, data scientist topped CIO as this year’s highest-paid position, at well over $100,000. Less surprisingly, CIO and CISO trailed close behind.

Network, data and applications architects filled out the second tier, with ERP analysts and mobile and front end developers just behind them. End user support roles tend to earn considerably less, around half the income of the highest-paid jobs, but sometimes lead to top-paid management roles.

Interestingly for digital talent, UI/UX designers earn almost as much as front end developers, and considerably more than (also highly ranked) content strategy positions.
