A technology services company partners with TEKsystems to support a complex SAP® retail initiative.
The local pool of SAP® Price and Margin Management (PMM) talent with retail experience was small. Our client did not have suitable SAP® IS Retail resources on its bench and went to its staffing partners for assistance in securing the skill sets needed. With the company having 140+ resources on site with the end client at any given time, 30 to 40 of whom were contractors, it was critical to maintain a pipeline of qualified personnel that could adapt to project needs. After initially sending these requirements to 40 potential suppliers across North America, the company was dissatisfied with the high number of unqualified submissions received. Seeking to optimize this process, our client reduced its approved vendors list down to TEKsystems and three other suppliers for ERP support.
After instituting the preferred ERP staffing vendor program, our client resubmitted eight requests for high-end SAP® IS Retail skills sets that had previously remained unfilled for six-plus weeks. Leveraging our deep network of consulting professionals and our strong regional presence, we were able to source five of those resources locally within five to eight business days from requisition to placement. Ultimately, TEKsystems placed a senior SAP® IS Retail BI/BW consultant, two SAP® IS Retail Functional Master data Consultants and two SAP® IS Retail Merchandising leads into the core implementation team. These resources played a key role in the design and implementation of this complex project and interacted with the company’s end client.
