HANOVER, MD – March 30, 2009 – TEKsystems®, the leading provider of technology staffing and services, is sponsoring the Maryland Chapter Walk MS. Walk MS is scheduled for Sunday, April 19, 2009 in Annapolis MD. The 5K walk will begin at 10:00 a.m. starting and ending at the Magothy River Middle School.
Walk MS is the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Maryland Chapter’s signature event. Entering its 20th year, and raising over $1.2 million last year alone, the event attracts more than 8,000 participants and volunteers statewide.
The National MS Society is a health organization compromised of volunteers who are dedicated to the prevention, treatment, alleviation, and cure of MS. Providing more than $45 million, including more than $8 million in direct funding support of researchers in Maryland, the National MS Society is the largest organization in the world to support MS research.
The MS Maryland Chapter serves more than 6,000 men, women, and children living with MS, providing them with educational programming, support services, and direct financial assistance. In Maryland alone there will be nine Walk MS' including Annapolis, Cambridge, Columbia, Frederick, Hagerstown, Towson, Ocean City, and Westminster.
