Our reliance and demands on technology are evolving and multiplying, as is the need for talent to innovate, build and support that technology. Even in today’s uncertain business environment—IT unemployment remains low. The IT talent pool is constricted. The technology talent pipeline is not growing fast enough organically. The solution? Attract more talent to the field.

The technology industry has been widely criticized for its lack of diversity and inclusivity when it comes to the IT workforce. Traditional forms of IT education may not be accessible to everyone—more paths to opportunity need to be created. Per Scholas offers an alternative to traditional IT education. Since 1995, they’ve helped businesses build the talent they need by going into communities that have been underserved for decades. To date, they’ve helped open doors for over 11,000 individuals.

Considering that 87% of Per Scholas students are people of color, scaling this type of program could have profound impacts on the future faces of the IT workforce.
