The challenge:Loss of Strategic Control
Our client’s Japan entity engaged several IT vendors and system integrators to build, develop, and maintain their flagship customer-facing platforms. However, this approach led to numerous challenges. With several projects outsourced to managed services vendors, our client lacked strategic control and did not have direct ownership of the technical outcomes. The vendors’ deliverables consistently fell short of our client’s expectations, resulting in significant issues across the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), including technical debt, code quality, and overall development standards.
To reduce their reliance on managed services vendors, our client aimed to build a best-in-class software engineering team in-house. Mission-critical to this strategy was engaging a high-quality, cost-effective staff augmentation partner capable of bringing in top talent with the relevant subject-matter expertise.

TEKsystems owned the end-to-end resource deployment process through a contract-to-hire model, providing our client with the flexibility to insource our personnel after a designated contract tenure.
