The challenge:Testing Under a Time Crunch

Our client’s global HQ was driving a complex payments system migration project and tasked their China entity to support their testing phase. However, the China-based IT team was already overloaded with several other projects and did not have the capacity to take on the massive workload of functional testing on their payments system. The shortage of available manpower was further compounded by a restricted budget and tight timelines, as the first phase of testing had to be completed within the coming three months, with limited visibility beyond that.

As the deployment of resources externally took up our client's internal headcount, their project stakeholders were facing internal scrutiny and had to go through multiple layers of approvals to get the SOWs signed-off for onboarding resources. Facing several challenges, our client was prompted to explore strategic resourcing alternatives and bringing in the required technical expertise to complete the testing on time. Enter TEKsystems.

TEKsystems partnered with our client to fully understand their project scope, requirements, timelines, and the roadblocks that had to be tackled. We then leveraged our high-quality resourcing model to quickly deploy skilled testing SMEs and provide our client with the flexibility to scale up and down as project requirements changed.

Given the tight timelines for completing the payments system testing, our ability to quickly identify and deploy the functional testers was of paramount importance. We ensured that our consultants were technically proficient and had prior replicable experience testing on enterprise-scale platforms, so that they could get up to speed quickly post-onboarding.

Cost-effectiveness was a vital cog in our solution. To stay within our client's budget constraints, we deployed one Senior Functional Test Engineer and one Junior Automation Test Engineer to support their initial three-month testing phase, with the flexibility to extend their assignment if required.
