Pat Tillman Foundation helps unite and empower military service members, veterans and spouses as next generation of leaders
TEKsystems, a global provider of technology, business and talent solutions for more than 80% of the Fortune 500, announced its continued sponsorship of the Pat Tillman Foundation’s 19th annual Pat’s Run, Saturday, April 15, 2023. Pat’s Run raises funds for the Tillman Scholars program, a growing network of leaders who are dedicated to service beyond self, united by their military service, academic passions and desire to make an impact.
The Pat Tillman Foundation identifies remarkable military service members, veterans and spouses, empowering them with academic scholarships, lifelong leadership development opportunities and a diverse, global community of high-performing mentors and peers. TEKsystems’ eight-year partnership with the foundation is part of our ongoing commitment to military service members, veterans and spouses, helping nearly 20,000 pursue their career aspirations over the past 10 years.
"We’re committed to supporting those who have served our country,” says Mark Collins, president of TEKsystems. “Tillman Scholars carry on Pat’s legacy of service beyond self and make an impact around the world. At TEKsystems, we strive for excellence through serving others—one of our company’s core values. Because our values align and we firmly believe in empowering the next generation of leaders, we’re proud to sponsor Pat’s Run.”
Pat’s Run celebrates the life of Pat Tillman and remains the signature fundraiser for the Tillman Scholars program. Participants will run or walk 4.2 miles through the streets of Tempe, Arizona, finishing on the 42-yard line of Sun Devil Stadium at Arizona State University. In addition to the main event, younger participants can run or walk in the 0.42-mile Kids Run. For those who cannot attend in person, runners can participate virtually or run in their local communities across the country at Tillman Honor Runs, presented with the foundations’ partners at the Arizona State University Alumni Association.
"We are grateful for the ongoing commitment from TEKsystems in helping those in the military community transition purposefully into their next phase, and we’re excited to partner with them once again to support our more than 800 Tillman Scholars through Pat’s Run,” says Dan Futrell, chief executive officer of the Pat Tillman Foundation and a 2011 Tillman Scholar. “This year’s theme, Rise Above, inspires us all to rise above the challenges we face and persevere to reach our fullest potential no matter how we choose to serve—honoring Pat’s true legacy.”
“We are deeply grateful for the service of our military and the support and sacrifice of their families,” says Mike Powers, veterans and disabilities programs manager at TEKsystems. “Pat's legacy of service, self-reliance and fortitude is reflected in the veterans and spouses who are starting new careers and adjusting to new landscape each year after service.”
TEKsystems has been ranked a Top 10 Military Friendly Employer three years in a row and is an approved third-party SkillBridge provider.
