TEKsystems Receives Military Friendly® Employer Recognition for Eighth Straight Year
Nov. 11, 2022 | HANOVER, MD
Recognition demonstrates efforts in creating continued career success for military, veterans and their spouses
TEKsystems, a global provider of technology, business and talent solutions for more than 80% of the Fortune 500, today announced its recognition as a 2023 Military Friendly® Employer by VIQTORY. Since 2003, the Military Friendly® lists have come to set the standard for organizations that are committed to creating sustainable economic benefit to the military community and all the important parts of the community: the employee, the spouse, the family, the consumer and even the supply chain.
TEKsystems ranked five in the top 10 of the company’s respective revenue category out of more than 1,000 companies that participated in the survey. This is the eighth consecutive year the company has earned the Military Friendly® distinction. TEKsystems’ ranking speaks to an ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive environment, including creating continued sustainable and meaningful career paths for the U.S. military community. Since 2013, TEKsystems has helped more than 19,000 servicemen and servicewomen.
“We have the unique opportunity to not only hire veterans and their spouses at TEKsystems, but we can also help our customers realize the immense positive impact of hiring those who have served for their in-demand IT roles. We provide third-party SkillBridge support to companies to help them begin their own veterans fellowships and be a force multiplier in veterans hiring outside our own walls,” said Mike Powers, the veterans and disabilities program manager for TEKsystems and former Army National Guard member. “When you consider our veteran community, we have an untapped market ready and willing to work, who have incredible skill sets from their time spent in service bringing strength, leadership, resilience and determination to their careers. We’re deeply grateful for their service and will remain dedicated to serving as partners in their continued career success.”
Each year, TEKsystems helps over 3,000 veterans, active military and their spouses secure careers in technology, recruiting, sales, human resources and business careers across the country. To help with the transition from military life, TEKsystems offers a broad range of career development, training and mentor programs. Understanding that career transformation is an ongoing ambition, TEKsystems partners with several veteran-related organizations and programs, including SkillBridge, 50Strong, ACAP, CSP, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, Military Spouse Employment Partnership, Pat Tillman Foundation, USO, Veterati and the Wounded Warrior Program.
“Companies earning the Military Friendly Employers® designation create and elevate the standard for military programs across the globe; they have invested in substantive programs to recruit, retain and advance the veterans and service members within their organizations,” said Kayla Lopez, director of military partnerships, Military Friendly®. “To them, hiring veterans and servicemembers is more than just the right thing to do; it’s a standard that makes good business sense.”
Institutions earning the Military Friendly® Employer designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. Methodology, criteria and weightings were determined by VIQTORY with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combing an organization’s survey score with an assessment of the organization’s ability to meet thresholds for Applicant, New Hire Retention, Employee Turnover and Promotion & Advancement of veterans and military employees.
TEKsystems will be showcased along with other 2023 Military Friendly® Employers in the December issue of G.I. Jobs® magazine and on MilitaryFriendly.com.
