The company continues commitment to supporting active military, veterans and spouses
TEKsystems®, a provider of full-stack technology services that address the pressing strategy, implementation and talent needs for more than 80% of the Fortune 500, is proud to announce its continued sponsorship of the Pat Tillman Foundation’s 17th annual Pat’s Run, to be held virtually on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Funds raised from Pat’s Run support the Tillman Scholar program, the premier academic fellowship for veterans and their spouses, building a diverse community of leaders committed to serving others.
Held annually to honor Pat’s legacy, the 4.2-mile run/walk has historically wound through the streets of Tempe, Arizona, and finished at Sun Devil Stadium. Organizers, however, will honor Pat’s legacy virtually for the second year, encouraging participants to run 4.2 miles individually, wherever they are, and share their experiences with the hashtag #PatsRun and #TEKRunswithPat.
TEKsystems’ partnership with the Pat Tillman Foundation is part of the company’s larger commitment to supporting U.S. active military, veterans and spouses. Since 2013, the company has helped more than 19,000 servicemen and servicewomen in their career aspirations in a wide variety of technology-related fields, including the leadership of TEKsystems itself.
“At TEKsystems, we help veterans achieve their dreams through long-term career success, so they have the opportunity to continue serving after service,” says Jay Alvather, president of TEKsystems. “Our long-standing partnership with the Pat Tillman Foundation helps support Tillman Scholars as they work toward their dreams and impact communities around the world.”
Mike Powers, veterans and disabilities program manager for TEKsystems and a retired Army National Guard member and combat veteran, says, “The resiliency and dedication of our service veterans align with our core values at TEKsystems. As a veteran myself, I’m extremely proud to be a part of a company that actively supports those who have served.”
Visit the careers page of TEKsystems.com for more information on our career opportunities for veterans and active military.
Interested runners can register for the April event in Tempe or in any of the other 37 cities across the country where the run is hosted at PatTillmanFoundation.org.
About the Pat Tillman Foundation
In 2002, Pat Tillman proudly put his NFL career with the Arizona Cardinals on hold to serve his country. Family and friends established the Pat Tillman Foundation following Pat’s death in April 2004 while serving with the 75th Ranger Regiment in Afghanistan. The Pat Tillman Foundation unites and empowers remarkable military veterans and spouses as the next generation of public and private sector leaders committed to service beyond self. The fellowship program supports Tillman Scholars with academic scholarships, a national network and professional development opportunities, so they are empowered to make an impact in the world.
