TEKsystems recognized as leading Military Friendly® Employer for sixth consecutive year

Nov. 13, 2020 | HANOVER, MD

Ranking demonstrates TEKsystems’ dedication to placing veterans and military spouses in high-value careers

TEKsystems, a full-stack technology services provider that addresses the pressing strategy, implementation and talent needs for more than 80% of the Fortune 500, today announced its recognition as a 2021 Military Friendly® Employer by VIQTORY.

TEKsystems ranked third in the top 10 of the company’s respective revenue category. This is the sixth consecutive year the company has earned a military friendly distinction for their commitment to the career success of veterans and military spouses. TEKsystems’ ranking speaks to the ongoing commitment of the company’s people and policies to create an inclusive environment.

“Serving in the military provides you with specialized skills and a disciplined work ethic second to none,” says Mike Powers, the veterans and disabilities program lead for TEKsystems and a former Army National Guard member. “At TEKsystems, we look for those essential skills, like resilience, time management, organization and grit, coupled with a steadfast commitment to serving others. We’re extremely grateful for their service and proud to help those with military backgrounds leverage their experience to build meaningful careers.”

Institutions earning the Military Friendly® Employer designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. Hundreds of companies participated in the Military Friendly® Employers portion of the 2021 Military Friendly® Companies survey.

Companies that have earned this designation have invested in substantive programs to recruit, retain and advance veterans within their organizations,” said Josh Rosen, director of Military Friendly®. "To them, hiring veterans isn’t just the right thing to do. It’s good for business."

Each year, TEKsystems helps more than 3,000 veterans and spouses find success through career opportunities in a wide variety of fields, including the leadership of its company. Since 2013, we’ve helped more than 18,000 find careers. In addition to offering a broad range of career development, training, transition and mentor programs to support military communities, TEKsystems also partners with a number of veteran-related organizations, including the Wounded Warrior Project, VetsinTech, Microsoft Software and Systems Academy and the Pat Tillman Foundation.

TEKsystems earned the Military Friendly® Employer distinction by completing a data-driven survey independently verified. Methodology, criteria and weightings were determined by VIQTORY with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining an organization’s survey score with an assessment of the organization’s ability to meet thresholds for applicant, new hire retention, employee turnover, and promotion and advancement of veterans and military employees.

TEKsystems will be showcased along with other 2021 Military Friendly® Employers in the December issue of G.I. Jobs® magazine and on

About Military Friendly® Employers

The Military Friendly® Employers list is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources for thousands of federal contractors nationwide, the input of military employees, and responses to the proprietary, data-driven Military Friendly® Employers survey from participating companies. The survey questions, methodology, criteria and weightings were developed with the assistance of an independent research firm and an advisory council of educators and employers. Data calculations and tabulations were independently evaluated for completeness and accuracy by Ernst & Young. The survey is administered for free and is open to companies that have hired veterans in the past 12 months. Criteria for consideration can be found at
