Scaling the Enterprise: How 4 Organizations Solved Their Toughest Connectivity, Security and Visibility Challenge
Enterprises today are under pressure to unify fragmented systems, secure sprawling networks and turn operational data into real-time insight, all while proving measurable value at scale. Technology itself is rarely the hardest part. What separates organizations that scale successfully from those that stall is alignment, expertise and disciplined execution at every stage of the journey.
The following profiles demonstrate how we partnered with four organizations, spanning collaboration, networking, security and observability, to work through these exact challenges. Each one walks through the obstacle they faced, the approach that got them unstuck—built on Cisco technologies—and the measurable outcomes that followed.
COLLABORATION
Supporting Enterprise Deployment of a Unified Communications System
A leading property and casualty insurance provider set out to standardize communications across a highly distributed workforce. As part of a broader transformation, the organization was deploying a Cisco Unified Communications (UC) telephony system across 165,000 devices—one of the largest implementations of its kind.
To support this effort, the organization partnered with TEKsystems Global Services (TGS) to navigate the scale and complexity of the deployment. Regional autonomy promoted flexibility but led to fragmented communication approaches and inconsistent user experiences. At the same time, they were building an integrated platform to unify core business functions, making a modern, enterprise-wide UC system foundational to delivering a more consistent experience.
The scale and complexity were significant:
- 165,000 devices across 13 zones
- Hundreds of unique call flows per region
- Multiple vendors, technologies and stakeholders
- The need to drive user adoption and organizational change
Working alongside internal teams, we supported execution across discovery, design, testing and deployment. Call flow discovery captured current-state processes and defined future-state requirements, informing standardized designs aligned to enterprise goals. Call flows were tested in simulated environments and deployed using a “flash-cut” approach, with a rolling schedule for continuous refinement and improvement.
Change readiness remained central, and we helped business groups adopt new standards and transition effectively. This approach allowed the industry leader to scale communications with consistency and confidence, leading to:
- Successfully deployed UC capabilities across multiple zones without disruption to customer interactions
- Standardized call flows and user experiences across the enterprise
- Reduced defects and rework through continuous process improvement
- Increased efficiency in deployment timelines and resource utilization
- Strengthened alignment between technology, operations and end users
NETWORKING
Deploying IT Infrastructure To Support a New Integrated Health System
An integrated health system advanced a multiyear transformation that included building a new hospital. While architectural design was underway, the organization engaged us to provide managed services expertise and specialized healthcare IT capabilities required to execute critical infrastructure at scale.
Together, teams established clear program governance to coordinate across stakeholders and suppliers while advancing multiple workstreams. We supported deployment of Catalyst 9000 network infrastructure aligned to Cisco best practices, conducted wireless assessments and optimization, and enabled deployment of more than 2,200 end-user devices, as well as imaging, configuration and installation.
This approach strengthened operational execution and expanded patient care while unlocking broader impact across the organization. The results were:
- A 75% increase in deployment efficiency, expanding scope without increasing overall cost
- Early identification and resolution of a critical configuration risk, preventing potential wireless network disruption
- Successful enablement of a new, state-of-the-art hospital, positioning the organization to serve 50% more patients
SECURITY
Enabling Secure Collaboration in Highly Regulated Environments
A large public sector organization required a secure, unified communications platform capable of supporting voice, video and messaging at enterprise scale while meeting some of the most rigorous security and compliance requirements in the industry. Traditional commercial collaboration platforms were not approved for use in highly secure environments, creating the need for a purpose-built solution that could deliver modern communications capabilities without compromising regulatory standards.
TGS partnered with Cisco to design, build and operationalize a secure hosted collaboration platform based on Cisco Unified Communications technologies. Working closely with Cisco, TGS led development, security infrastructure implementation and program management to create a hardened architecture designed to operate within highly regulated environments. The solution incorporated rigorous security controls and compliance frameworks, which enabled secure integration with protected networks while maintaining the reliability and user experience expected from a modern communications platform.
The result was a secure, scalable collaboration environment capable of supporting 25,000-plus users across multiple operational environments while meeting stringent security and compliance requirements, such as:
- Achieving certification against rigorous government and industry security standards for sensitive environments
- Successfully passing annual security audits and compliance reviews with no material findings
- Delivering secure voice, video and messaging capabilities across a large, distributed user base
- Maintaining continuous compliance through ongoing validation, testing and operational governance
OBSERVABILITY/SPLUNK
Scaling Splunk To Improve Visibility and Speed Across the Enterprise
A large enterprise expanded their Splunk environment to improve visibility, performance and responsiveness across the business. To accelerate progress, they brought us in to enhance and scale the platform.
We provided ongoing administration and optimization, enabling teams to build and scale alerts, dashboards and reporting capabilities. This improved access to insights and reduced mean time to detect (MTTD) and mean time to resolve (MTTR). Regular engagement through structured office hours strengthened adoption and user proficiency, while a blended delivery model ensured continuous support and rapid issue resolution.
In parallel, we helped foster a growing community of administrators and power users, expanding internal capability and increasing self-sufficiency across the organization.
A stronger focus on visibility and user capability delivered sustained value across the environment, including:
- Improved detection and response times through enhanced observability
- Increased user adoption and platform proficiency across teams
- Expanded internal expertise, reducing reliance on external support
- Stronger ability to monitor, analyze and act on enterprise data
