The challenge: Building Mission–Critical Trading Infrastructure Under Time Constraints

As part of an enterprise-wide digital transformation roadmap, our customer set out to establish a new trading platform, anchoring a strategic shift in their market infrastructure footprint and positioning the business to compete more effectively in an increasingly latency-sensitive trading landscape. The platform needed to be engineered from the ground up to support high-volume, low-latency transaction processing while meeting the stringent resilience, security and regulatory expectations inherent to national market infrastructure.

Compounding this technical complexity, the full delivery lifecycle, from requirements scoping through to solution architecture and production readiness, had to be compressed into a 3-month window, leaving no margin for architectural rework or delivery delay. To meet this timeline without compromising engineering rigour, our customer required a delivery partner capable of embedding proven expertise from day one rather than building capability from scratch.

TEKsystems partnered with our customer to deliver end-to-end engineering capability spanning distributed systems design, performance engineering, cloud-native build-out and data platform operations, applying a methodology proven across comparable high-volume trading environments. Ramping up a 15-member squad, we embedded technical leadership, service delivery management, and engineering discipline directly into our customer's in-house teams to meet the compressed timeline without compromising quality.

• Platform Engineering: Designed and developed high-performance, low-latency, highly available cloud-native backend services using Java and the Spring framework, aligned to our customer's coding standards and architectural blueprints.
• Performance Optimisation: Applied targeted tuning across critical application paths to lift system responsiveness and ensure stable execution of latency-sensitive market infrastructure services.
• Cloud-Native Build: Containerised services with Docker and Kubernetes, applying Terraform and Helm for infrastructure-as-code orchestration to underpin a resilient, horizontally scalable architecture.
• Data and Linux Operations: Engineered SQL and NoSQL database structures alongside deep Linux and shell scripting expertise to harden platform operations across development, test and production environments.
• DevOps and Release Engineering: Established automated CI/CD pipelines to streamline build, test and deployment cycles, enabling reliable, repeatable releases under compressed delivery timelines.
