The challenge:Greenfield Gateway
As part of their digital transformation roadmap, our client wanted to develop a cutting-edge trading platform to operate on the Singapore stock exchange. This was a major greenfield initiative involving multiple stakeholders and complex compliance requirements, with a strong emphasis on delivering a high-performing, responsive, stable, and scalable platform.
To deliver this initiative, our client needed to rapidly scale their IT team with high-calibre technical subject-matter experts (SMEs), while optimising costs. From scoping requirements to onboarding resources, the entire end-to-end process had to be completed within a tight three-month timeframe. Committed to maintaining high technical standards, our client needed to engage a high-quality partner with specialised application development capabilities and a proven track record of supporting engagements of similar scale and complexity in Singapore.
Entrusted with this mission-critical initiative, TEKsystems’ delivery team partnered closely with programme stakeholders to scope their platform development roadmap and key milestones. To optimise resourcing costs without compromising on quality, we implemented a squad-based managed capacity solution that allowed our client to retain strategic control and safeguard project IP.
To bridge our client’s capability gaps, a shortlist of 50+ Java Developers with deep expertise in building high-volume trading systems was complied. In collaboration with our client, we co-developed a rigorous screening framework to ensure each candidate met the highest technical standards. This included complex coding assessments, pair programming, and intensive technical interviews.
In addition to resource deployment, TEKsystems assumed full responsibility for onboarding-offboarding, performance and retention management, velocity tracking, and project-based reporting – significantly reducing the time, effort, and administrative burden of our client.
