The Economic Times 2nd Annual GCC Conclave, held on November 26th 2025 in Bengaluru, India, made it very evident that AI transformation, and not just experimentation, is playing on the minds of industry leaders.

Global Capability Centres (GCCs) have evolved from back-office functions to testing grounds for enterprise scale innovation, where the chapter of global AI transformation is being written. From my discussions with CXOs and technology leaders, GCCs are now moving past proof of concepts into enterprise deployment while balancing diverse stakeholder demands with caution. From GenAI pilots to AI-first operating models, organisations are shifting from efficiency to innovation, building platforms and prototypes that have the potential to reshape organisational structures and ethos.
What distinguishes the current momentum surrounding AI from earlier trending initiatives such as big data , digital transformation and cloud adoption is that it’s not only a top-down directive, but there is also pressure from all sides. For the first time, the consumer adoption of a new technology (AI) has not just kept pace, but rather outpaced industry level adoption, which has given rise to a somewhat AI native population eagerly looking at management to enhance their daily productivity via AI. A McKinsey report highlighted that three times or more workers are using AI at work more than what their leaders imagine.
As AI adoption accelerates, the key challenge will be empowering organisations to manage the transition. This isn’t just about upskilling or building a new team; rather, it’s about cultivating a mindset of curiosity, collaboration, and courage. Leaders must create space for experimentation, encourage diversity of thought, provide buffers to handle challenges and cultivate communities where learning can thrive. The momentum of AI transformation will only accelerate when people feel confident to adapt and innovate. This cultural shift is critical because GenAI adoption faces real challenges: data silos, disconnected workflows, and weak governance models. Without strong foundations, even the most advanced tools falter. Organisations must embed privacy, security, and ethics into every stage of the journey. Trust isn’t optional; it’s the cornerstone of sustainable innovation.
There’s a strong need for shifts in talent, organisational, stakeholder and leadership empowerment. As India’s GCC ecosystem steps into a new era establishing itself as the global nerve centre for driving AI capabilities, the onus is to champion use case, for the next generation innovation.
Our foundation is simple:
- Purposeful Planning: We don’t just follow trends; we align transformation with long-term value.
- People First: We empower individuals for success, not just rely on sophisticated algorithms.
- Trust as Non-Negotiable: We embed governance and ethical responsibility at the core of everything AI.
In a world racing toward AI, the organisations that succeed will be those that master the art and science of empowerment. The ‘How to?’ is the part where we are beckoning others to take notice.
