OWNING CHANGE IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR
The challenge:Legacy Application Modernisation at Scale
Our client needed to meet their customer’s demands for easy-to-access digital services and a seamless user experience – similar to what they received while engaging with other state government entities. To address these pressing issues, our client kickstarted a multi-year digital transformation programme with the objectives of upgrading their technological landscape, enhancing operational efficiency and service continuity, and improving user experience. With limited internal bandwidth and budget constraints, they engaged TEKsystems to bridge the gaps and provide a high-quality, cost-effective resourcing model.
Our proposal:Subject-Matter Expertise Right on Cue
Leveraging our long-standing partnership, TEKsystems partnered with key stakeholders to understand the implementation roadmap and existing challenges. Modernising the existing legacy architecture to address performance and compatibility issues was critical, as was re-engineering operational workflows and strengthening synergies between different project teams.
To deliver on our client’s requirements, TEKsystems’ dedicated delivery team focused on deploying seasoned technical and functional subject-matter experts (SMEs) with extensive knowledge and prior replicable experience in driving similar transformation initiatives within the public sector. This would be instrumental in minimising the time-to-productivity and ensuring the on-time fulfilment of key project milestones.
Real-world Results
TEKsystems deployed five Solution Architects, five Business Process Analysts, and five IT Project Managers with prior public sector experience to support our client’s multi-year digital transformation programme. Our Solution Architects designed a comprehensive roadmap to revamp the existing legacy systems, introduce cutting-edge tools, shift from on-prem to cloud solutions, and implement strong governance. Our Business Process Analysts streamlined existing processes and implemented new tools to drive agility and boost automation to minimise manual errors and tackle system vulnerabilities. They partnered with our IT Project Managers to facilitate stronger communication between the business and technical teams through regular steering committee meetings, review sessions, and user training.
Our SMEs played a pivotal role in fast-tracking the implementation of our client’s digitalisation programme by enhancing their technical ecosystem, reducing costs, and accelerating product development and release cycles. This enabled them to quickly upgrade and expand their service offerings and enhance the overall user experience of their digital applications. Citizens now have smoother access to courts and tribunals and the overall time-to-justice has reduced, thereby strengthening public engagement and confidence in the justice system.
