Owning Change in Financial Services
Our customer is a global financial services group operating across complex, highly regulated markets, where effective governance, risk management and regulatory compliance are fundamental to maintaining operational integrity. As the financial crime landscape evolves, they are modernising fraud detection capabilities, data platforms and control environments to support more effective oversight and decision-making.
Transforming AML Control Across Complex Fund Environments
Strengthening Compliance, Delivery Governance and Risk Management
Our customer identified gaps in existing anti-money laundering (AML) controls, creating compliance risk across six major fund environments in Australia. The uplift was strategically important because the affected environments supported large-scale fund administration activity and required stronger alignment to the acquiring group’s AML standards.
To address the risk, our customer launched a four-workstream transformation programme covering eKYC, fraud platform uplift, verified credentials and AML reform delivery. Each workstream carried distinct regulatory, technical and operational implications, requiring coordinated delivery across internal teams, external vendors and fund stakeholders.
However, the programme was operating with limited governance visibility, fragmented execution and limited local delivery capability. Without centralised planning, structured reporting and clearer accountability, the transformation risked losing momentum at a critical stage of delivery.
AML Delivery Enablement and Governance Uplift
Driving Structured Execution Across Concurrent Transformation Workstreams
TEKsystems deployed domain-specialised Business Analysis and PMO capability to bring structure, control and accountability across four concurrent AML transformation workstreams.
- Scope Design: Defined current-state and future-state requirements for the broader transformation programme, shaping the initial scope before aligning delivery activity to individual workstreams.
- Reform Assessment: Assessed how AML reforms would affect each fund environment, including regulatory implications, reporting requirements, delivery timelines, advisory needs and process optimisation priorities.
- Fraud Uplift: Designed end-to-end workflows for the Snowflake-based fraud platform, including architecture, alert design, integration points and alignment with internal business and stakeholder teams. eKYC
- Delivery: Supported the selection, design and implementation of the new eKYC solution, including current-state analysis, future-state mapping, vendor coordination and technical delivery oversight.
- PMO Governance: Introduced structured programme governance through centralised schedules, reporting packs, milestone tracking and improved Steering Committee visibility.
