The vast majority of respondents (80 percent) believe the Oracle Database is the product for which the benefit hype most closely aligns with implementation reality.
Forty-eight percent of survey respondents also characterize the Oracle Database as the company’s foremost up-and-coming product. Oracle Exadata and Oracle Cloud solutions receive nods as next in line by 41 percent and 32 percent, respectively.
Respondents rank cloud (77 percent), Big Data analytics (63 percent) and security (46 percent) as the top three most “in-demand” Oracle technologies; social and mobile computing rank fourth.
The study reveals that the number one challenge organizations face in implementing Oracle technologies is lack of relevant technical skills. Budget constraints and poor upfront analysis of organizational requirements are also common problems.
