TEKsystems Named Top-Scoring Company on 2020 Disability Equality Index

The  American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) and Disability:IN  recognized TEKsystems as "Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion"

July 15, 2020 | HANOVER, MD

TEKsystems®, a provider of full-stack technology services that address the pressing strategy, implementation and talent needs for more than 80% of the Fortune 500, today announced it has been named as a top scorer in the 2020 Disability Equality Index® “Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion” by the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) and Disability:IN®.

First launched in 2015, the Disability Equality Index (DEI) serves as a comprehensive annual benchmarking tool that allows America’s leading corporations to self-report their disability policies and practices. Companies were measured against criteria including culture and leadership, enterprise-wide access, employment practices (benefits, recruitment, employment, education, retention and advancement, accommodations), community engagement, supplier diversity and non-U.S. operations (nonweighted).

“The Disability Equality Index top-scoring companies represent those businesses that have invested in accessibility and inclusion across their enterprise. As we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the ADA [Americans with Disabilities Act], it is wonderful to see the progress made by these companies, and we hope to see continued progress and support for the DEI over the next 30 years,” said Maria Town, president and CEO of AAPD.

Globally, people with disabilities represent over 1 billion people. Disability is a natural part of the human experience, and crosses lines of age, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status and religion.

TEKsystems has always been committed to creating an inclusive work environment where employees with different abilities contribute to business success. Among the company’s policies and programs, TEKsystems offers a variety of employee resource groups (ERGs) and employee networks (ENs) to foster an inclusive workplace. Additionally, TEKsystems supports local charities and communities through their match assistance program and corporate partnerships with organizations such as, but not limited to, the Association of University Centers on DisabilitiesCouncil of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation and Foundation Fighting Blindness.

“At TEKsystems, we believe creating a diverse and inclusive workforce builds healthy, high-performing teams,” says Franklin Reed, director of inclusion and diversity at TEKsystems. “We’re honored to receive this recognition once again, demonstrating our strong core values and our dedication to creating significant opportunities for all.”
